The Challenge: As Seward, Nebraska, changed over time, they realized a need to formalize the town’s goals and priorities. The citizens wanted a strong voice in the strategic vision of the community, and local leaders brought in our Planning team to develop a strategic plan.
The Solution: Together, members of the Seward City Council, city staff, and engaged members of the community attended a strategic planning workshop to discuss and prioritize various projects in and around Seward. A total of 16 stakeholders participated in the workshop. Our Planning and Community Engagement teams led the workshop which followed an agenda geared to inform, educate, and build group consensus. Attendees examined the goals and objectives within their Comprehensive Plan, reviewed the results of the Community Scorecard, and discussed additional identified projects. Results and input from the workshop informed the final plan.
Project Benefits: With their Strategic Plan, Seward has prioritized the needs and projects that its citizens want most. Their clear vision well positions decision makers to lead in alignment with community desires.
