We are thrilled to announce that Steve McCullough has joined JEO as a senior project manager in Lincoln, Nebraska. McCullough brings over 25 years of management experience in developing solutions for transportation projects throughout the Midwest. His background encompasses both private and public sectors and includes the design and construction of interstates, expressways, rural highways, and urban arterial streets.
Prior to JEO, McCullough served as the Assistant Roadway Design Engineer with the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT). Highlights of his role at NDOT include involvement with major capital improvement projects like the Lincoln South Beltway, Fremont Southeast Beltway, and NDOT’s first Super Two project on US 83. During the historic March 2019 flood event, he played a key role in the repair efforts at the Niobrara and Spencer Dam where bridge and roadway infrastructure was destroyed.
Additional roles McCullough has served in include Vice President with Alfred Benesch & Company and Project Manager with HDR Engineering. At Benesch, McCullough was Group Manager of Transportation in Nebraska and a member of the corporate Quality Management Program (QMP). McCullough managed several high-profile projects including preliminary design and environmental phase for the Lincoln South Beltway, Omaha’s 156th Street Phase 1 & 2, NDOT’s Wahoo Expressway, and Niobrara East & West.
At HDR, McCullough was a company “Professional Associate," recognizing his technical expertise. While there, McCullough lead several projects including NDOT’s West Dodge Elevated Expressway, Lincoln’s Pine Lake Road, Joint Iowa/Nebraska US 34 & new Missouri River Bridge, and Omaha’s Streets & Parking Lots allowing for the construction of the College World Series ballpark.
