The Primetime H2O zone aquatic facility at the YMCA in the Gretna Crossing Park is a standout feature of this 157-acre park, which has become a centerpiece for the Gretna, Nebraska community. Our team designed the aquatic facility and performed construction management for both the indoor and outdoor aquatic areas. The overall design incorporates natural light and scenic views of the aquatic spaces, while the natatorium highlights Gretna’s signature green, reflecting community pride.

The indoor aquatic space accommodates year-round programs by catering to both competitive and recreational needs. It provides a venue for family swim time, swim meets, practices, and lessons throughout the year. It also meets the needs of local high school swim teams who previously faced early-morning travel times to other facilities for practice. The pool features an 8-lane, 25-yard competition pool with dual 1-meter diving boards, starting platforms, integrated timing equipment, and ADA-accessible seating. Additionally, a splashpad provides fun, interactive play options.

The outdoor aquatic center has a zero-depth entry pool complete with a toddler cove, sun ledge, and kiddie slides that replicate the complex’s larger slide attractions. Other features include vertical spray elements, water tables, climbing walls, basketball hoops, and an animal-themed water walk. The centerpiece of the water park is a 450-foot lazy river, connected to a serpentine raft slide, an open-body slide, and Nebraska’s first-ever “Adrenalindrop” speed slide. Designed for accessibility, the facility includes ADA-accessible stairs, chair lifts, and bridges throughout. The mechanical systems were optimized for sustainability with defender filters and recirculated water for the splashpad, reducing water waste.

Thanks to our partners–Gretna Public Schools, the YMCA of Greater Omaha, and Sarpy County–Primetime H2O is now more than just a place to swim and play. It’s a hub for community connection and active living.
