Honoring Service: Colfax County Veterans Memorial, Schuyler, Nebraska

On the south side of Schuyler, a new landmark stands as a tribute to the men and women who have served our country: the Colfax County Veterans Memorial.

This meaningful project was driven by the local VFW and American Legion Post, with JEO Consulting Group proudly contributing our services to help honor the area’s veterans.

Bringing the Vision to Life

The memorial was a joint effort from start to finish. Our Visualization team created impactful renderings and a fundraising video that helped secure community support and funding. We designed the monument, creating a dignified focal point that embodies strength and gratitude. Our landscape architecture team handled the site design to ensure the memorial integrates seamlessly with its surroundings and remains accessible to visitors year-round.

Our business development team played an essential role in keeping the project on track, facilitating effective communication among our staff, the local project lead, and the City of Schuyler. Every detail was thoughtfully considered to create a space where families, friends, and community members can gather, reflect, and honor the sacrifices of local veterans.

Building on Solid Ground

Before construction began, a geotechnical investigation was conducted to confirm that the site’s soil and foundation conditions could safely support the new monument and plaza. Their study ensured that the memorial would stand strong for generations to come.

A Lasting Tribute

The Colfax County Veterans Memorial stands as a testament to service, sacrifice, and the power of community collaboration. What began as a shared vision, championed by local veterans and supported by partners like JEO, has become a lasting tribute honoring all who have served.

If you’re in Schuyler, we invite you to visit the memorial and take a moment to reflect. You’ll find it on the south side of town, just west of Highway 15 and northeast of the Oak Ballroom.
