project description
The Challenge:
The City of Geneva, Nebraska, wanted to construct a new fire station on a site that contained potential Recognized Environmental Conditions. They city needed an expedient and cost-effective solution so they could close on their bank loan and begin construction of the new fire station.
The Solution:
Our Environmental team was hired to conduct a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment in conformance with ASTM Standard Practice E1527-13 and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Standards and Practices for All Appropriate Inquiries. The purpose of the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment was to identify potential environmental liabilities in association with hazardous substances and/or petroleum products at or in the vicinity of the subject property.
Project Benefits:
Upon completion of the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, only one Historical Recognized Environmental Condition was identified. With this information, the city was able to proceed with construction of the new fire station without any site remediation or delay.
