Food. People. Love. Those principles have helped drive the growth of ChefauChef and continue to shape the way the locally owned business serves the Lincoln community.

After outgrowing its previous space, Chef Aaron Young and his team worked with JEO’s multidisciplinary team to design a new facility tailored to the company’s unique needs. JEO provided architecture, structural engineering, civil/site design, surveying, and MEP coordination services to support the project from concept through construction.

The heart of the building is a full-service commercial kitchen, with customer-facing spaces organized around it. A point-of-sale area at the front provides a place for customers to interact with the ChefauChef team, while a drive-through and service window support their ‘Wham Bam Meal in a Pan’ offering. The facility also includes a tasting and meeting room, office space, and the support areas needed to keep a busy catering operation moving.

Located at 86th and Garland, the building’s design is simple and functional, with a clean exterior and large windows that bring natural light into the customer and office areas. The site layout was also designed around the movement of customers, employees, and food, helping connect the different parts of the operation.

ChefauChef serves the surrounding local community in a variety of ways, from weddings, banquets and corporate events to its daily pan meals, Greek House meal programs and in-home private chef services. The company also supports the Food Bank of Lincoln through its Wham Bam meals, donating a percentage of each purchase to the organization. The new facility gives the team the space and flexibility to do more of that work.

For JEO, the project was a collaborative process centered on understanding how ChefauChef operates on a day-to-day basis.

With room to grow and a facility tailored to its needs, ChefauChef is well positioned to continue serving Lincoln through great food, meaningful connections, and a commitment to the community.
