A standout feature of the new building is a storm-hardened head end room. This area protects critical telecommunications equipment and ensures uninterrupted service during extreme weather conditions. This is particularly important in Nebraska, where severe weather can disrupt daily life and communications. In addition to protecting their equipment, Glenwood also prioritizes its staff’s safety by including a dedicated staff storm room.
The new facility also underscores Glenwood Telecommunications’ commitment to sustainability. A cutting-edge geothermal well system will be implemented for eco-friendly heating and cooling. This system uses the earth's natural temperature to regulate the building’s climate, significantly reducing reliance on traditional heating and cooling methods and lowering the facility’s overall carbon footprint.
