The Challenge:
Nearly 12 years ago, the City of Glenwood, Iowa closed and subsequently demolished its municipal outdoor swimming pool because of its poor physical condition and ongoing costs. The facility was the area’s only publicly owned outdoor swimming pool, and the community was eager for a better facility.

The Solution:
In 2014, our Aquatics team was hired by the city to design a new aquatic facility for Glenwood and surrounding neighbors. The new pool is 8,700 square feet and the bathhouse is 4,500 square feet, housed at the existing Glenwood Community High School. The new concessions/restroom area is positioned for easy use of both the aquatic center and soccer field visitors.

Project Benefits:
Glenwood now has a state-of-the-art pool and bathhouse, conveniently positioned at the community high school. Residents and visitors alike can take advantage of the brand new facilities and amenities.
