Stronger together this school year: JEO partners with Grand Island Senior High

School is back in session, and in our Grand Island, Nebraska, office that means welcoming new faces! JEO is proud to partner with Grand Island Senior High’s Engineering Academy to offer internship opportunities for high school seniors. This collaboration connects students with real-world engineering experiences while strengthening ties with the local workforce. 

The Academy’s career-focused curriculum encourages students to choose a pathway after their freshman year. JEO provides hands-on experience in cost estimating, Civil 3D concepting, right-of-way research, and construction inspection shadowing. Our team also supports Academy events like Junior Internship Day and Freshman Career Day, offering resume feedback, mock interviews, and career insights. 

“This partnership demonstrates how collaboration between schools and local businesses can create meaningful opportunities, develop valuable skills, and inspire the next generation of professionals right here in Grand Island,” said Andrew Wilshusen, branch manager and transportation project manager.
