Lonnie Burklund, PE, PTOE, has been promoted to JEO’s director of Business Development. He was previously the Traffic and Technology department leader.

A registered professional engineer with a career spanning over 27 years, Burklund has extensive experience in consulting and public agency leadership. He has provided innovative solutions, technical expertise, and community engagement for a variety of mobility challenges and opportunities over the years.  Prior to joining JEO, Lonnie was the assistant director of  transportation and a city engineer for the City of Lincoln, NE.

He joined JEO in June 2020, where he has continued to build his reputation aroundrelationship-building and communications with diverse groups of stakeholders. 

“Lonnie has proven time and again that he has a knack for bringing people together across the organization to find creative ways to address our clients’ needs,” said Jeff Henson, president. “He also has the unique perspective of having been both a consultant and a client.”

Burklund’s new role involves leading a team responsible for deepening existing relationships and forming strategic partnerships to open doors to new markets and additional opportunities. The team also works with JEO’s internal departments to identify growth opportunities, as well as developing client engagement strategies that position the company to win.

“I’m looking forward to modernizing our approach to business development, expanding our reach, and deepening our relationships with clients across the company,” he said.
