2016 Brings New Faces To JEO

Michael Hall, PE, CQPA, CCCA, CDT, LEED AP, ENV SP, joins JEO’s transportation department as a project engineer. Hall has over seven years of engineering experience which includes design and construction oversight and the development of capital improvement plans. His past experience also includes light rail construction and roadway and aviation infrastructure.

Hall earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University. He is a registered professional engineer in Nebraska, Iowa, and California. Other certifications include: certified quality process analyst (CQPA), certified construction contract administrator (CDT), LEED accredited professional (LEED AP), and Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP). He will be working out of JEO’s Omaha, Nebraska office.

Jay Scurlocke joins JEO as a bridge design engineer in the transportation department. His previous experience includes working as an AutoCAD technician and structural engineering intern. Scurlocke recently graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering with a minor in mathematics. He will be working out of JEO’s Lincoln, Nebraska office.

Steve Locke joins JEO’s water infrastructure group as a project engineer. Locke’s experience includes utilizing GIS, Microstation, Autodesk Inventor (CAD), HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, BioWin, and some surveying. Previously Locke has performed cathodic protection plan monitoring, testing, and maintenance for the Des Moines Water Works. While there, he also assisted in water tower inspections and prepared and presented a comprehensive report on the feasibility, advantages, and limitations of feeding lake recharge water through a constructed wetland.

Locke recently graduated with his master of engineering degree in environmental engineering from Iowa State University. He also received his Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science from Iowa State University. Locke will be working out of JEO’s Ankeny, Iowa office.

John Callen, PE, CFM, returns to JEO as a project engineer in the water resources engineering department. Callen’s previous experience includes working for the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources where he developed and implemented multiple outreach presentations, training events, and public meetings related to floodplain mapping projects. His experience also includes several hydrology and hydraulic studies. Callen earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in biological systems engineering and also in interdisciplinary studies in engineering. He will be working out of JEO’s Lincoln, Nebraska office.

Garrett Schwindt joins JEO’s client development team as a special projects coordinator. Schwindt has extensive research experience and presentation skills. He will be working on various client development tasks, while also providing quality assurance and quality control for multiple projects. Schwindt recently graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biopsychology. He will be working out of JEO’s Wahoo, Nebraska office.
