Michael is a project engineer in the water resources engineering department (WRED) and is an integral part of JEO. He started at JEO as an intern in 2008 and was hired full time in 2011. Michael works in JEO’s Lincoln office, where he is invaluable on levee and floodplain management projects. Program management and administration and System Wide Improvement Framework (SWIF) efforts are just a few of the capacities Michael leads.
Michael was selected as employee of the quarter because he has taken on additional responsibilities lately, which he’s done a great job in juggling a number of these tasks. Michael is a great mentor for interns and other younger engineers. On top of managing a very large workload, he just finished his MBA and recently passed his PE exam.
Michael is always thinking of others and is very dedicated to making the experience better for everyone involved, staff and clients. He is passionate about providing a quality deliverable and is always very good about looking out for what people need, but may not be saying. In addition to Michael’s JEO work, he is heavily involved in the Nebraska State Floodplain and Stormwater Managers Association, his church, and family.
JEO’s Employee of the Quarter award started in 2006, and is unique in that coworker nominations are the basis of the award. At the close of each quarter, JEO employees can nominate fellow coworkers who they believe deserve recognition. A selection committee then reviews the nominations and narrows the list of nominees to one name. This quarter, that name was Michael Bash.
Congratulations Michael! Thank you for your enthusiasm, dedication, and mentorship to JEO!
