Jake Miriovsky, EIT, joins JEO as a project engineer in the water resources engineering department. Miriovsky has more than six years of experience in civil engineering. He previously worked for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission (NGPC) in their engineering division. He also has worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads in their traffic engineering division. Miriovsky has had experience while working at NGPC on design and development of engineering and recreational projects including sanitary, environmental, structural, hydrological, mechanical, and electrical disciplines. His experience includes using software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk for storm and sanitary sewer analysis, HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS, and LiDAR for design and site layout. Some noteworthy projects he has been a part of include the expansion of the sanitary sewer system at Ponca State Park, sanitary sewer improvements at Mahoney State Park, along with lake rehabilitation projects at Burchard Lake, Rat & Beaver Lake, Willow Lake, and Swan Lake.
Miriovsky holds a bachelor’s of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL). He is a member of the Nebraska section of the American Water Works Association of Young Professionals. Miriovsky will work out of JEO’s Lincoln office.
Sean Kennedy joins JEO’s survey department as a GIS/survey technician. He joins JEO with over five years of GIS experience. Prior to joining JEO, he was a GIS technician for Omaha Public Schools (OPS). While at OPS, he was responsible for preparing maps for presentations, running geographic analyses, and researching topics that would be of possible interest to OPS. He also has experience in using survey equipment to locate property corners, stake houses, property lines, and building corners. His technical skills include basic coding such Fortran90, HTML, Visual Basic, Java, Java Script, and Python. His skills also include utilizing software such as ArcMap 10, ArcServer Manager, AcrGIS Online, ESRI Network Analyst, ESRI Business Analyst, CityEngine, and SchoolSite Extension.
Kennedy holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Nebraska–Omaha (UNO). He is currently working towards earning his master’s degree in geography also from UNO. He will work out of JEO’s Omaha office.
