We would like to send a huge congratulation to Evelyn Jansa for reaching her 25 years of service with JEO Consulting Group, Inc. We asked Wahoo’s administrative assistant a few questions reflecting back on some of the most important and memorable moments over the years she has spent with the firm. These are Evelyn’s thoughts:
What made you decide to say ‘yes’ to JEO? “At the time, I was traveling back and forth from Lincoln and logging lots of windshield time; which with a small child at home was difficult. The job offer at JEO allowed me to spend more time at home with my family. Community reviews from the Wahoo public were positive and shortly after I started, held true.”
What has kept you at JEO for so long?
“I like my job, the people I work with, and the flexibility at JEO has allowed me time with family.”
Mentors: “I could mention several mentors, but the one that has made the most impact on my career at JEO would be one of JEO’s founders, Terry O’Brian. His vast knowledge in the water and wastewater field is vast. He always took the time to explain technology and how things worked within those disciplines. The way he was able to explain things in terms I understood was priceless. I will always have a deep admiration for Terry and the knowledge he has shared.”
What has changed the most since you’ve started at JEO? “Hands down it would have to be technology. When I started computers were just being introduced at JEO and there was one computer for three of us to share. None of us wanted to touch it for fear it would break! It’s not like today when toddlers know how to play games on the iPhones and iPads with no fear. Now I’m aging myself!”
What advice do you have for someone just starting their career at JEO? “Jump in and learn all you can and don’t be afraid to ask questions. JEO has amazingly talented individuals that are eager to educate.”
JEO would like to thank Evelyn for her 25 years of service and wish her many more years of success and happiness with JEO. Her commitment to JEO is remarkable!
