Nathan Boone FormalLINCOLN, NEBRASKA – Nathan Boone, PE, LEED AP, recently joined JEO Consulting Group, Inc. as a senior project engineer in the transportation department. With eight years of experience, Boone specializes in transportation engineering, including roadway design, rail design, value engineering, erosion control measures, drainage control, traffic control, and utility coordination.

As a senior transportation project engineer, Boone helps oversee the completion of transportation projects. In addition to conferring with project managers about engineering decisions, he facilitates the coordination and time management of projects. Although Boone has extensive and unique experience in roadway interchange design, rail design, and renewable design, his primary focus at JEO is urban design, particularly in the City of Lincoln, Neb.

“As the size, skills, and knowledge of our transportation department continue to grow, Nathan offers a new and valuable perspective of transportation engineering. This perspective, along with the high quality of work he has already demonstrated, adds great value to our urban design projects,” said Tom Kellogg, transportation department manager.

Having started with JEO in November 2013, Boone has already been involved in several projects. He has designed transportation improvements for the Village of Springview, Neb., roadway designs in Seward, Neb., and erosion drainage control for the Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR) in Greeley County, Neb. Boone also collaborated with NDOR to provide roadway design for Wildcat Hills North & South in western Nebraska.

Prior to joining JEO, Boone worked for AECOM and Black & Veatch in Denver, Colo. and Atkins Global in Colorado Springs, Colo. His previous experience includes serving as the project engineer for the design of commuter rail and roadway improvements associated with the $450 million North Metro Rail Line, which runs from Union Station to the northern area of Denver, Colo.

Boone holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University. As well as being a registered professional engineer in Nebraska, Iowa, and Colorado, Boone is also LEED accredited.
