WAHOO, NEBRASKA – Jon Mooberry, PE, recently joined JEO Consulting Group, Inc. as a senior design engineer in the transportation department. With 11 years of experience, Mooberry brings well-developed skills in project management, design, and construction services. He also brings advanced knowledge in municipal infrastructure design, rural highway design, bridge hydrology and hydraulics, and construction engineering.
Since joining JEO in February 2014, Mooberry has enjoyed the co-workers and staff: “I have a real positive feel with the company, and I am looking forward to my future at JEO,” he said. “I hope to move toward a project management role in the near future.”
Mooberry, before joining JEO, was the highway superintendent and engineer for Dawson County, Neb. He was instrumental in the implementation of a cost-effective maintenance preservation practice, in which a hot-applied, polymer-modified asphalt binder, combined with specially engineered aggregates and modifiers, was used to improve failing road surfaces with minimal disturbance to the traveling public. In addition to restoring ride quality of the road, the cost-effective solution will also extend the life of the road.
Mooberry also worked as a hydraulic engineer in the bridge division for the Nebraska Department of Roads, where he modeled watersheds and analyzed design requirements for bridge structures. He was also a project engineer for Schemmer Associates, Inc., where he provided design and construction services for a broad range of municipal infrastructure projects.
“Jon offers excellent overall experience on design and construction services for urban streets and rural highways. Having recently served as a county highway superintendent, he has also developed good leadership skills,” Tom Kellogg, transportation manager at JEO, said about Mooberry.
As a senior design engineer at JEO, Mooberry looks forward to utilizing his experience and providing these services for Lincoln and the surrounding areas. Some of Jon’s project experience within the City of Lincoln includes South Coddington Avenue, from West Van Dorn to West A Street; East “O” Street, from 52nd Street to Wedgewood Drive; and the Yankee Hill 16” Water Main, from 73rd Street to 84th Street.
Mooberry holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and is a registered professional engineer in Nebraska.
