The nominations are in, the committee has chosen, and one hardworking employee has gained some well deserved recognition.
Before revealing the winner, let’s start with some background and history. At the end of each quarter, JEO employees send in nominations for who they believe deserves to be named Employee of the Quarter. These nominations include personal comments on why they believe their nominee deserves such an award, including details like attitude, work ethic, and willingness to go above-and-beyond in the workplace. Once the nominations are in, the selection committee takes on the task of deciding who is to be named the official Employee of the Quarter.
This award was started in 2006 and has become a very popular program among employees. CEO Rob Brigham said,
These sincere compliments can make it a difficult task for the selection committee to choose only one recipient, who is put into a drawing for the Employee of the Year award. The winner is picked at the end-of-the-year Holiday Party and receives a trip for two, to one of multiple possible locations. The difficulty in decision making for naming Employee of the Quarter is one way to see the consistent high quality effort put forth by all JEO employees. Oftentimes, you could place multiple names with the Employee of the Quarter title and it would fit just as well.
Since only one person can be picked each quarter, you are probably dying to know who the first Employee of the Quarter is for 2013. Well wait no more, JEO’s first Employee of the Quarter is Justin Vogel. Justin was selected because he has proven to be a leader who can manage a new office and work with limited resources, all while achieving success with a high level of satisfaction by clients and fellow team members. Justin is a competitor whose unselfish motivation is contagious with other staff. He has been with JEO for 17 months and has illustrated “exceed the client’s expectations, deliver on-time and within budget,” time and time again, while enabling other team members to learn-and-teach the importance of all three. Justin has the instinctive ability to build trust with project owners and his experience/knowledge is well respected within his peer group.
We hope it only grows and continues to be a model for other employees to follow in their own efforts. We also want to thank all employees who sent in nominations to the selection committee, for recognizing the hard work of their fellow employees. Having multiple nominations is proof that JEO employees truly are dedicated to putting forth their best in everything they do.
